About

PATC-SSVC is a chapter of Potomac Appalachian Trail Club (PATC) based in the Southern Shenandoah Valley. Many of our members are from the Harrisonburg-Staunton-Waynesboro area. The PATC, through volunteer efforts, education and advocacy, acquires, maintains, and protects the trail and lands of the Appalachian Trail, other trails, and related facilities in the Mid-Atlantic region for the enjoyment of present and future generations.

PATC North River District volunteers maintain trails in Ramseys Draft Wilderness and in and near the proposed Shenandoah Mountain National Scenic Area in the George Washington National Forest.  Our goal is to maintain trails for use and enjoyment by the public.  We extend a warm welcome to Highlanders to join PATC-SSVC and hike with us or volunteer to help with trail maintenance on Shenandoah Mountain.  To volunteer, contact:  Lynn and Malcolm Cameron, PATC North River District Managers, slynncameron@gmail.com.  Sign up to receive our hike schedule at  www.ssvc.org.
