Learn the basics of how to safely identify and forage mushrooms! This class is highly approachable,
with an emphasis on developing skills of observation that will assist you in identifying all kinds of
interesting, edible, medicinal, and poisonous mushrooms and fungi.
We will gather at our starting point discuss a simple framework for observing and contextualizing important identifying information about mushrooms you encounter, then go for an ID walk and seek out different fungal friends who can help us practice our skills. Along the way we will discuss biology and ecology of fungi and how to connect that with what we are observing. Throughout the class we will work together to ID any interesting finds and discuss further steps and techniques to refine that identification.
Tickets are $25.00 each, though scholarships are available for those needing financial assistance.
Please contact us if you are in need of financial support to attend the event.
