Artists' Weekend and Wet Paint Show

The Highland County Artists’ Weekend returns after a two year absence due to Covid. This popular event was last held in 2019 when 38 artists from around the state participated and enjoyed painting the beautiful landscape of Highland County. Plans for the 12th year of the event in 2020 were canceled due to Covid and again in 2021.

The Highland County Arts Council is pleased to bring the event back on June 24 – 26, 2022. Artists will have the opportunity to paint the farms, valleys, and vistas of this mountainous and scenic region over the three days. The event will culminate in a Wet Paint Show and Sale on Sunday the 26th from 2 – 4 pm at the Highland Center in Monterey. The public will have the opportunity to view and purchase many of the works created by the talented artists during the weekend. The artists who participate are not the only beneficiaries of the event. Images of Highland show up at other art shows and galleries throughout the state that help promote the area to other artists and visitors seeking the beauty of a rural landscape.
