Experience the powerful, spine-tingling tradition of shape note singing at The Highland Center! Rooted in early American folk and sacred music, shape note singing is a vibrant, participatory form of four-part a cappella singing where everyone is welcome — no musical experience required. Join us for a weekend of demonstrations, workshops, and community sing-alongs celebrating this uniquely American musical tradition and the joy of singing together.

Demonstration Sing at the Highland Farmers Market Friday, June 26 from 5-7pm 

Shape Note Workshop at The Highland Center Saturday, June 27 from 10-11:30am, $5 fee.  

Community Sing Along at the Fire Tower, Saturday, June 27 at 12pm
