About

Allegheny Mountain Institute (AMI) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization working to cultivate healthy communities through food and education. In the past year AMI has donated 3200lbs of organically grown produce through several outlets within Highland County.

Upcoming educational workshops and events can be found at: https://www.amifellows.org/classes-and-events

You can support AMI's mission through direct donations or by visiting the village and staying at The Lodge that is listed on Airbnb.

Escape to The Lodge at Allegheny Mountain Institute, just 30 minutes from Monterey, VA. Surrounded by two national forests at 4,300 ft, it's perfect for groups seeking space, privacy, and mountain views. Enter via Route 601 to 2599 Bear Mountain Rd (do not use 1910 Clay Hise Route). The gravel road is scenic but winding. Caretakers live on-site if needed.
